Opened in July 2016, the brand new Dalkeith Country Park is an experience unlike any other. You’ll find the magical new Fort Douglas play park alongside Restoration Yard, a gorgeous new store, café, coffee bar and wellbeing lab in the former stableyard which has been lovingly restored to create this truly unique visitor destination.

There’s also the wider park to explore with waymarked walking and cycling trails to suit the whole family and special events too. Bike hire, archery, zorbing and bushcraft sessions are also available. You can explore the Old Oak Wood with trees over 900 years old, enjoy a picnic in one of the areas we’ve created, or simply breathe in the fresh air of this beautiful country park, which you’ll find hard to believe is just a few miles from Edinburgh’s city centre.

  • Dalkeith Country Park

Re-launched in July 2016, Dalkeith Country Park really does have something for everyone, whether you’re looking for a family trip out or a day spent lunching and shopping. Fort Douglas play park is magical for little ones with turreted treehouses, suspension bridges, slides, climbing walls and secret tunnels of this brand new playground. It has two amazing play zones: one that’s perfect for children up to the age of five and another for six to twelve year olds. Sorry grown-ups, the equipment is for kids only, but we do have coffee up there in Restoration Yard and our gorgeous new kiosk (with bathrooms too). You’ll also find archery and zorbing in Fort Douglas at busier times. Restoration Yard is a place for eating, shopping and relaxation. Come explore our gorgeous new retail, dining and wellness space located in the newly renovated stable yards at Dalkeith Country Park.
