Dalkeith Country Park

There’s so much for you to see and do at Dalkeith Country Park that you could just turn up, follow your nose and you’re sure to have a memorable day. One of the reasons the estate is so loved is because there is a wealth of outdoor adventure just a short drive from the city and nearby towns.

You’ll find not one river here, but two. If you’re lucky you’ll spot the otters larking about in the shallows. There are enough woodland paths to keep you wandering happily for hours. You can also bring your bike and cycle in safety for miles.

When the long summer days come and your thoughts turn towards the barbecue,  why not consider booking one of our official barbeque spots.

Fort Douglas playground will open alongside the brand new Restoration Yard, a place for eating, shopping and relaxation. This major project – which brings a superb new store, café and wellness space to the much-loved park – represents a multi-million pound investment in the local economy and will create forty new full time equivalent jobs to service an estimated 300,000 annual visitors and will open on Monday 25 July.
