Newbattle Abbey College
Set in its own parkland and surrounded by ancient trees, Newbattle Abbey is a 16th century house which occupies the site of a 12th century Abbey. The Abbey was founded in 1140 by King David lst of Scotland. The house was modified by William Burn in 1836 and David Bryce in 1858. Restoration of the stunning Drawing Room was completed in January 2007. This is used for meetings, conferences, seminars, exhibitions and musical evenings. A variety of other rooms are also available which can accommodate from between 2 to 35 delegates. Amongst the other benefits of using Newbattle Abbey are the catering facilities, audio-visual equipment, unlimited free parking and a conducive and peaceful atmosphere.
