The Retreat is minutes from the city by-pass and 20 minutes from Edinburgh City Centre. For the business visitor, families to tourists alike we offer eight comfortable rooms. We have a fantastic bar area that is popular with locals and aims to be the most 'quirky' in Edinburgh! We are the perfect base to take in what Edinburgh has to offer, Rossyln Chapel is near by. There is a bus service that runs directly outside 24/7.

We offer a hint of opulence with a very casual affair - serving fresh local produce daily. Our menus change as the seasons but we always have some great offers alongside daily specials. Our large dining room area with impressive log fire is perfect for family gatherings. Our conservatory is used for bigger functions up to 70 persons. During the summer months we have a large beer garden area which is popular with families as we have an enclosed play area for the children.

To the back of the hotel we have our own Chapel which can be used for wedding ceremonies (both civil and religious) or corporate meetings.
