Directions By Road - from the Edinburgh bypass: take "Straiton Junction" A701 to Penicuik/Peebles. Follow A701 to sign for Roslin (3 miles) once in Roslin Village the Chapel is signed.
By Air - to Edinburgh or Glasgow International: Edinburgh is 30 miles from Glasgow (45 from Airport) Take M8 to Edinburgh Trains from Queen Street (Glasgow) run every 30 minutes and take 50 minutes travel time.
By Rail - to the Edinburgh Waverley Station will take 4hrs from London. Roslin is 7 miles south of Edinburgh's Princes Street.
By Bus - There is one direct bus services that operates to Roslin - Lothian Buses service 15
There is a lot of restoration work going on at the moment but Rosslyn is still worth a visit if you are in Edinburgh with a day to spare.
Driving is simplest but there is a bus (30 mins) from the centre of Edinburgh to Roslin and then it is only a 3 minutes walk from the bus stop.
I recommend you go on one of the tours as it gives you the best quick way to try and understand the rich history of the place.
