Things that go bump in the night in Newtongrange

PARANORMAL enthusiasts from around Scotland visited the Scottish Mining Museum in Newtongrange in search of supernatural activity.

The event, which welcomed over 30 members of the public, spiritual mediums and paranormal experts, was run as part of Mary King's Ghost Fest 2010.

Led by professional paranormal investigators, the visitors used a host of equipment to try to pick up any ghostly activity at the Lady Victoria Colliery.

Mediums claim to have picked up the presence of miners who had died down the colliery before World War I, while para-normal experts interacted with spirits via the electro voice equipment, programmed to pick up noises too low for the human ear to detect.

Many guests also used their own digital cameras in the dark to detect ghost-like orbs.
