Budding reporters can put their writing skills to the test

Budding reporters can put their writing skills to the test with a high school community group. The Hack Pack, organised by the Penicuik and Roslin community learning and development team, meets in Penicuik High School on Wednesday evenings. Participants, in S2 and above, research and write up on subjects of interest to young people.

Once approved, the finished articles, reviews and reports will be posted on the Midlothian pages of the Young Scot website.

Meanwhile, there are a few places in the beginners' guitar group, which meets in Penicuik High School on Thursdays from 6.30pm to 7.30pm. The musicians should be in P6 and upwards although priority will be given to secondary school pupils.

There are also some spaces in the digital music group, which also meets in the high school on Tuesdays from 4.30pm to 6.15pm. The group uses iMac and iBook computers to produce music. There is also an opportunity to record onto the computer and have their music saved to CD. All classes start the week beginning Monday February 22. To book, contact 01968 6664108.
